Sleutelcompetentie: economische en financiële competenties
Deze sleutelcompetentie vertoont een sterke samenhang met de sleutelcompetentie ‘Ontwikkeling van initiatief, ambitie, ondernemingszin en loopbaancompetenties’.
Inzicht ontwikkelen in consumptiegedrag
Eén van de bouwstenen van de financieel-economische sleutelcompetentie is inzicht ontwikkelen in consumptiegedrag, inkomensverwerving en financiële producten om budgettaire gevolgen op korte en lange termijn in te schatten. Mogelijke thema’s zijn: consumentenrecht, prijs-kwaliteitverhouding, beïnvloeding van koopgedrag via reclame en andere verkoopspraktijken.
En ook: invloed van peers en sociale media kennen en begrijpen van goederen, diensten en financiële producten. Veilig betalen en courante betaalmiddelen komen ook als lesonderwerp onder de aandacht. Denk aan persoonlijke administratie, lenen, sparen, rente, schuld en fraude.
Bedrijven en organisaties
Leerlingen moeten daarnaast de werking van ondernemingen en organisaties en hun maatschappelijke rol duiden. Denk aan de werking van bedrijven en organisaties (zowel profit als non-profitsector), gerelateerde activiteiten en functies. Daar komt nog deze bouwsteen bij: reflecteren over de werking van de markten en de economie als systeem en de invloed van de overheid hierop duiden binnen de (inter)nationale context.
Het is aangewezen om de nodige kennis en inzichten over de rol van de overheid in de maatschappij (infrastructuur, uitkeringen, belastingen, veiligheid, onderwijs …) bij te brengen om informatie in een correct en volledig kader te kunnen plaatsen.
