Getting started with the micro:bit in your STEM projects: Course
The micro:bit is a mini computer, designed at the initiative of the BBC and intended to teach children the basics of programming. The advantage of the micro:bit is that you can start programming in an accessible way and you immediately see tangible results. There are then plenty of opportunities to grow to a higher level.
After a brief theoretical explanation, we get straight into it. We create a simple program in the MakeCode editor. Then we put it on the micro:bit and test it out. We then explore the various sensors present on the micro:bit and how we can use them in all kinds of STEM projects. This way we can measure temperature, light intensity and sound, among other things. One step further is data logging with the micro:bit: how can we store all kinds of measurement data and use or edit it afterwards?
During the workshop you will receive many practical examples of how you can use the micro:bit in STEM projects. Did you know that you can even design smart clothing with the micro:bit?
