Openbronsoftware op school
Openbronsoftware is computerprogrammatuur waarvan de broncode en bepaalde andere rechten, die normaal alleen voor copyrighthouders beschikbaar zijn, worden vrijgegeven.
Dat geeft gebruikers de kans om de software te bestuderen, aan te passen en dus te verbeteren. De ontwikkeling van openbronsoftware komt tot stand op publiekelijke en gemeenschappelijke wijze. Deze vindt plaats door samenwerking van zowel individuele programmeurs als grote bedrijven.
